Medicaid is a health care program under the Oregon Health Plan (OHP), which provides medical assistance to low-income children. Clackamas ESD provides training and technical assistance to participating districts in the development and maintenance of the Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) and School-based Health Services (SBHS) programs.

MAC

The MAC program reimburses school districts and ESDs for the cost of performing certain Medicaid administrative activities such as:

  • Medicaid Outreach
  • Referral, Coordinating, and Monitoring of Medicaid/OHP services
  • Transportation and Translation to/for OHP covered services
  • Program Planning, Policy Development and Coordination related to medical services

SBHS

The SBHS program reimburses school districts and ESDs for health services provided to Medicaid eligible children/students with disabilities. The services are indicated on a student's Individual Education Program or a child’s Individualized Family Service Plan. These services may include:

  • Physical Therapy Evaluations and Treatments
  • Occupational Therapy Evaluations and Treatments
  • Speech Therapy Evaluations and Treatments
  • Nurse Evaluation and Treatment Services
  • Mental Health Evaluation and Treatment Services
